Abdul Momen US gives us advice as we have good relations: Momen
Dhaka, December 21: Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen commented that the relationship between Dhaka and Washington is very good.
He said, "Our relations with the United States are very good and that's why they (Washington) give us advice on various matters.
He said these things in a seminar of Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIIS) on Tuesday (December 20).
The Foreign Minister said that there are many bilateral contacts between Dhaka and Washington. This year we have had 16 meetings with the United States.
Responding to a question whether the government is worried about new US sanctions, the minister said there is nothing to worry about.
He said the United States imposes thousands of sanctions and their sanctions come in one direction and go in the other. There are so many examples that the US has even lifted their bans in many cases.
BIIS organized this seminar titled 'Research Curriculum 2022'. The chairman of the organization Ambassador Kazi Imtiaz Hossain and Director General Major General Sheikh Pasha Habib Uddin spoke. The seminar was held in three sessions. In each session, three speakers presented their latest research findings related to the national interest of Bangladesh.
The first session was on the regional and global context of Bangladesh. BIIS Chairman presided over it. The second session was on security and strategic issues. Former Bangladesh Chief of Army Staff General (retd.) Md. Abdul Mubin presided over it. The third session was on 'Diplomacy and Dialogue'. Dhaka University Professor Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed presided over it.
