USA-Bangladesh US proud of partnership with Bangladesh: Blinken
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 27 March 2024: The United States is proud to partner with Bangladesh on many important issues. United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said this in the greeting message of the United States on the occasion of Bangladesh's great independence and national day.
On the eve of Independence Day, the US Secretary of State said in his message, "On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Bangladesh on the occasion of the Independence Day celebration on March 26."
This was informed in a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (March 26). In this message available on the website of the US State Department, Blinken said that the United States is proud to partner with Bangladesh on many important issues today, including combating climate change, economic development, responding to the Rohingya crisis, supporting global peacekeeping operations and addressing global health challenges. Blinken also noted that this partnership plays an important role in ensuring a free, open, secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
He said, as Bangladesh celebrates another year of independence, we are reiterating our commitment to strengthening democratic governance and protecting human rights and these efforts will further enrich Bangladesh. The US Secretary of State also highlighted the sincerity of the United States in the further development of relations between the two countries and peoples.
He said, "I extend my heartiest greetings to all Bangladeshis on this special day and look forward to further growth in the partnership between our two countries and people-to-people relations in the coming year."
