USA-Bangladesh US Secretary of State Blinken speaks with Foreign Minister Momen over phone
Dhaka, December 16: Less than seven days after the US sanctions against the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and seven former and current officers of the force, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called Bangladeshi Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on Wednesday evening. During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the development of Bangladesh-US relations.
He was at Bangabhaban when Blinken called Abdul Momen on his mobile phone. The Foreign Minister picked up the phone while he was at Bangabhaban to attend a courtesy call and dinner of President Abdul Hamid with Indian President Ramnath Kovind.
According to diplomatic sources, the US Secretary of State greeted Bangladesh through the Foreign Minister on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary and the golden jubilee of independence.
The two Foreign Ministers agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations in the future by maintaining the good relations between the two countries for five decades.
