Dhaka, April 13: On the occasion of Bengali New Year-1430 Varan, no one will be allowed to enter Ramna Batmule with bags. Everyone has to leave the place after completing all the programs in Ramana by 4 pm. Apart from this, on Pahela Baisakh, the residents of the city should not be made to suffer by using various loud musical instruments including the Vuvuzela.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Khandkar Golam Farooq said these things in response to questions from reporters after inspecting the security arrangements at Ramna Botmule on Thursday (April 13) at noon on the occasion of welcoming Bengali New Year-1430.

He said that every year Dhaka Metropolitan Police arranges security at Ramna Botmul. Our bomb disposal units at CTTC are of international standards. If a bomb is found anywhere, it can be identified through CTTC's robotics system and dog squad. They can be disabled later by robots. In case any miscreant enters then the SWAT team has given that drill. They have all kinds of abilities.

The police chief of Dhaka said that the Dhaka Metropolitan Police has made all kinds of security arrangements so that all Bengalis including Dhaka residents can celebrate this year's Pahela Boishakh. About 2700 police are working in Ramna, Dhaka University, TSC, Rabindra Sarobar and Jagannath University.

Referring to the three levels of security, the DMP Commissioner said, there will be a total of 9 gates in Ramana. It can be entered through four gates. The remaining 5 gates can be entered and exited. Each gate will have police, archways, metal detectors. Everyone will be searched and entered into Ramana.

Khandkar Ghulam Farooq also said that on Pahela Baisakh, young boys are often seen making various loud noises including vuvuzelas and causing distress to the city dwellers. I request everyone not to make such noise. No one can enter Ramana Park with bags. Everyone will be checked-in. So don't come to Ramana with anything extra.

Traffic will be controlled by barricades if there is a large crowd in Ramna. Ramana Park will be open from 6 am to 4 pm. All programs must be completed and vacated by 4 o'clock. No one will be allowed to enter Ramana after four o'clock.
