Own Correspondent, Dhaka, April 15: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has said that the nation will move forward by embracing Bengali culture.

The mayor made the remarks while exchanging views with the media after observing Chayanat's New Year celebrations at Ramna Batamul on Thursday morning.

Mayor Sheikh Tapas said, "Today we have gathered at Ramna Batamul. This New Year celebration of Ramna Batamul is one of the inseparable part of our national culture. This cultural mix of Ramna Batamul with our history and tradition satisfies us and gives totality to Bengaliness. So if we want to move forward, we have to move forward by embracing Bengali culture."

Expressing his happiness that the event has resumed after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19 pandemic, Taposh said, "It has to be spread widely among the new generation. Only then the fullness of Bengali culture will be revealed to a great extent."

The mayor wished the people of Dhaka and the country a happy Bengali New Year. At 6:30 am, DSCC Mayor attended the New Year celebrations organized by Chayanat at Ramna Batamul and left the venue after 8 am.
