Obaidul Quader said this at a press conference on current affairs held at his official residence on Sunday morning. Noting that those who won the municipal elections against the Awami League candidates will not be considered for any important post in the future, the Awami League general secretary said, "Punitive action will be taken against those who do not abide by the party's decision and act against party discipline." Will. He said that whether they win or lose, they will not get nomination in the next election, this is the decision of Awami League and Sheikh Hasina.

The second phase of the municipal elections was held on Saturday in which the Awami League candidates won a landslide victory. The Awami League general secretary congratulated the winners and said that this victory was a victory for development, progress and prosperity under the courageous and humane leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He also expressed the view that this victory is a victory to take the journey of democracy one step further.

Obaidul Quader said the Election Commission's preliminary report said voter turnout in Saturday's election was also promising. According to sources, voter turnout was 60 to 70 percent. The massive voter turnout is an expression of the people's continued confidence in the Sheikh Hasina government and the electoral system.
