Dhaka, May 20: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that the Gono Commission has no basis. He said action would be taken against anyone who caused trouble in the name of Gono Commission. The Home Minister told reporters at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital on Friday (May 20).

The 27th annual conference of Lions Club International was held on Friday.

Asked about the list of the people's commissions at the time, the Home Minister said they had published a book titled 'Terrorism in 2003'. I don't know what is written in it. We have not seen those in whose name they are blaming terrorism or corruption, so we cannot say anything about it.

Recently, a list of 116 Wajin (religious speakers) has been submitted to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) by the Gono Commission for Investigation of Fundamentalist and Communal Terrorism.

The names of the religious speakers were published on pages 760 and 761 of the 2200-page report submitted to the ACC chairman. The people's commission brought charges against them for destroying religious harmony through militant financing and WAZ. Former Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik and Member Secretary Barrister Turin Afroz are the chairmen of the commission.

"We have been investigating for nine months," said retired Justice Manik. "I have taken the testimony of many victims. The ACC chairman informed us that more than 50 WAZ traders have started searching for corruption."

Barrister Turin Afroz said that the activities of communal groups and Hefazat have come up. "I expect them to be held accountable financially."
