Hanif Flyover Youth dies after falling from Hanif flyover
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Oct 20: A youth (28) died after falling from the Mayor Mohammad Hanif flyover in Jatrabari of the capital.
This incident occurred on Wednesday (October 19) around 6:30 pm. When the young man was taken to the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) hospital with serious injuries, the doctor declared him dead around 8:30 pm. The identity of the deceased is not known yet.
Pedestrian SM Sumon, who brought the young man to the hospital, said that he saw the young man lying in a bloody state at the Jatrabari bus stand under Mayor Hanif flyover. He was quickly rescued and taken to DMC Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
He also said, citing eyewitnesses, that the deceased youth jumped from Jatrabari Mayor Hanif flyover.
DMC Hospital Police Camp Incharge (Inspector) Md. Bachchu Mia confirmed the death and said that the body has been kept at DMC Morgue for autopsy. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
He also said that the identity of the deceased is not yet known. It was initially learned that he committed suicide by jumping from the Mayor Hanif flyover. However, efforts are underway to find out the details.
