Zia, Ershad created BNP to give legality to their capturing of power: Joy

Joy recently wrote in his Facebook post, ‘Both Ziaur Rahman and Ershad formed the BNP and Jatiya Party respectively to legitimize their illegal occupation of power. These parties have nothing to do with the political system of the country. Parties have been regularly cheating the common man in the name of politics rather than democracy. "These two military dictators had no pro-people or pro-state political philosophy," Joy said.

He said the Awami League was born in 1949 by building a mass movement against the exploitation of the Pakistani government. The people came down to the streets spontaneously with the help of this party. The party was established as a strong opposition party through movement and struggle with people from all walks of life. But the position of the two so-called big opposition parties in Bangladesh is just the opposite. The BNP and the Jatiya Party were born overnight as government parties. These two parties were formed as a shield to protect the backs of those who illegally occupied the state power by violating the constitution and the rules of the army and plundering the democratic process. That is why these two groups do not have a strong public base. As a result, their role as an opposition party in the development of democracy in the country is nil.

Joy said that the BNP was formed by the dictator Ziaur Rahman to prolong the illegally occupied power. He handed over the weapons to the university students on the pretext of opening a student organization of this group. The BNP formed a special force with terrorists and miscreants in the guise of giving committees across the country. Later Khaleda Zia and Tareq Rahman also continued that trend. He said that BNP is not a political party in fact, it is a mask of a political party. After this mask, the miscreants looted the country's wealth and smuggled money abroad. They spread extremism and terrorism inside the country. Just as there is no relation of public relations with the establishment of this party, so also the relation of the workers with the leaders of this party is in exchange for money transactions. If Tareq Rahman is not given the required amount of money, the leaders and workers of his own party will not get nomination from BNP.
