Dhaka, March 5: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the total income of metro rail in the six months since its launch till June last year was Tk 18 crore 28 lakh 6 thousand 514.

Metro rail fare likely to rise by 15% in July

Metrorail departs from three Uttara stations every 10 minutes, but each one is loaded with passengers. Passengers are coming to Pallavi station from these stations. Few passengers get off at Pallavi but many times more than that get off. Most of the passengers' destinations are Motijheel, Secretariat, Farmgate and Agargaon. However, passengers who do not have Metropass have to suffer a bit. They have to stand in line for a long time to get tickets.

Prime Minister Hasina inaugurates Agargaon-Motijheel section of the Metrorail

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, November 5, 2023: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Agargaon-Motijheel section of the Metrorail on Saturday, November 4 at around 2:30 pm. Passengers can travel from Uttara to Motijheel by metro rail from Sunday. Initially, three stations will be operational in the Agargaon-Motijheel section. The stations are - Motijheel, Secretariat and Farmgate.

'MRT Police' takes over charge of metro rail's security

Dhaka, Oct 21: The government has already formed Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Police to provide overall security of metro rail. Two hundred more personnel have been added to the specialized MRT police. With this, under the leadership of a DIG, the strength of the MRT police is now 431. With this manpower, the MRT Police has started to perform the entire responsibility of metro rail security from Saturday.

Metro rail service to remain shut on Oct 14 and 15

Dhaka, Oct 11: Commercial movement of metro rail will be closed on October 14 and 15 (Saturday and Sunday). Meanwhile, Metrorail is closed on Fridays. As a result, passengers will not be able to travel by metro rail for three consecutive days (Friday-Sunday).
