Metro rail's Bijoy Sarani, Dhaka University stations now open
Dhaka, Dec 13: Metro rail's Bijoy Sarani and Dhaka University (DU) stations on the Agargaon-Motijheel section opened today (Wednesday, December 13) for public.
Trains have started stopping at these two stations of the metro rail since this morning. On the first day of its opening, a huge number of passengers have been noticed on these two stations.
These two stations will be kept open for passengers till 11.30 am. All other stations from Uttara to Agargaon will be kept open from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm.
With the opening of these two stations, 14 out of 16 metro rail stations from Uttara to Motijheel section have been opened for public. The remaining two stations — Kawran Bazar and Shahbagh — will also be opened in a phased manner.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the metro rail from Uttara to Agargaon on December 28 last year. Later, she inaugurated the Motijheel section from Agargaon on November 4.
