Dhaka, Nov 17: All stations of Metrorail MRT Line-6 will be commissioned in January 2024. Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) M.A.N. Siddique said this to the media on Tuesday.

He said that the metro rail will run day and night after all the stations are operational. At present, metrorail is running on Motijheel to Uttara route from 7:30 am to 12 noon. And Agargaon to Uttara route is running from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm.

M.A.N. Siddique said, 4 stations are still under construction on Motijheel to Uttara route. By the end of this month or the beginning of next month we will be able to open one more station. All stations will be commissioned by January. After that, the metro rail will run at full speed on the Motijheel-Uttara route.

DMTCL Managing Director said that Shahbagh and Karwan Bazar stations are taking time to complete due to late start. Hopefully, within the next three months i.e. in January, metro rail movement of Motijheel to Uttara route will be brought under one time system. Now trains are running on Agargaon-Uttara route from 8:30 am. Motijheel-Uttara route will also come under the same system. Then the time will gradually increase.
