Metro Rail Metro rail earns Tk 18 cr 28 lakh in six months
Dhaka, March 5: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the total income of metro rail in the six months since its launch till June last year was Tk 18 crore 28 lakh 6 thousand 514.
In response to a question marked with a star presented on the table of M. Abdul Latif, a member of the government party in the Parliament on Monday, he said that according to the audit firm's final account of the fiscal year 2022-23, the total income till June last year was Tk 18 crore 28 lakh 6 thousand 514.
The Minister of Road Transport and Bridges said that on December 28, 2022, the Uttara Uttara to Agargaon section of the metro rail and the section from Agargaon to Motijheel on November 4, 2023 were inaugurated by the Prime Minister. Now every day except Friday from 7:10 am to 8:40 pm Metrorail from Uttara North to Motijheel is running regularly as per scheduled commercial schedule.
He said, following the directives of the Prime Minister, the construction work to extend MRT Line-6 from Motijheel to Kamalapur by 1.16 km is progressing in full swing. So far the overall progress of the work is 25 percent. It is planned to launch this part in June next year.
