2 killed in Rohingya camp firing in Ukhia

Dhaka, April 15: Two people, including a woman, were killed in a firing incident at the Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar's Ukhia. They were killed at separate locations in the camp on Friday. One person has been arrested in this incident.

The deceased are Md Hasim (32), son of Bashir Ahmad, and Nurul Islam's wife Noor Haba (50) of Ukhiya Rohingya camp.

Arrested Md. Sadeq (31) son of Nurul Hakim of Rohingya camp in Ukhia. APBN claims that he is an ARSA terrorist.

8 Armed Battalion Police Assistant Superintendent Md. Farooq Ahmed said that based on secret information, the APBN members in charge of the camp came to know that a group of 20-25 terrorists led by ARSA terrorist Lalu is staying at the foot of the hill of Camp-18 Block/17 Mosque.

On the basis of such information, when the APBN members reached the place, the ARSA terrorists opened fire on them. A woman named Noor Haba (50) was killed by the terrorists.

Meanwhile, the police also fired back in self-defense. The terrorists ran away after firing. ARSA terrorist Sadek was arrested with weapons while escaping. Later, the dead body of Md. Hasim, known as Arsa's top terrorist, was recovered from the spot.

He also said that two members of the police were injured in the incident. The deceased ARSA terrorist Hasim (32) was involved in various crimes including murders, drug trade, kidnapping, extortion in Rohingya camps. The police officer said that the operation to arrest other criminals involved in the incident is underway.
