20,000 Hajj pilgrims return to home

Dhaka, July 8: This year, 19,785 pilgrims have returned to the country by a total of 53 return flights after the completion of the holy Hajj ceremony till Friday (July 7). Among them, the number of flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines is 17, the number of flights operated by Saudia Airlines is 23 and the flights of Flynas are 13. This information was known from the 45th bulletin of the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Friday.

This year, a total of 1,22,884 people from Bangladesh went to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. A total of 325 flights were operated to carry these pilgrims. Among them, Biman Bangladesh Airlines carried 61,180 pilgrims in 159 flights, Saudi Airlines carried 41,468 pilgrims in 113 flights and Flynas Airlines carried 20,236 pilgrims in 53 flights. After performing the holy Hajj, Biman Bangladesh Airlines is distributing Zamzam water among the pilgrims who came to the country through Biman, Flynas and Saudia Airlines.

Meanwhile, 87 Hajj pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia so far. Among them 67 men, 20 women. 71 people died in Mecca, five in Medina, seven in Mina, two in Arafa and one in Muzdalifah.

The first Hajj flight started on May 21 this year. The last flight to Hajj is on June 22. On the other hand, after performing Hajj, the return flight will start on July 2. The return flight of pilgrims will end on August 2.
