Dhaka Metro Rail 3,857 passengers travel Metrorail on first day
Dhaka, December 30: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the country's first metro rail on Wednesday. She and her invited co-passengers took off on the first trip by Metrorail. Metrorail journey with general passengers started on Thursday. Three thousand 857 passengers travelled in it on the first day. Metro rail was operated from 8 am to 12 pm.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director M. A. N. Siddique said this on Thursday.

Although the train was scheduled to run from 8 am, the passengers were standing in line since dawn. Some of these passengers were office goers and some were just casual passengers. Many came with their families. Many aimed to just ride the Metrorail and explore the inside.
Since morning, passengers have been complaining that the authorities are working slowly in entering the station. But authorities say it has taken some time to maintain order and acclimatize passengers to the whole system.
