3 killed in Rangamati road mishap

Dhaka, Feb 15: Three people were killed and two others were injured after a cargo truck hit a CNG autorickshaw on the hilly road of Rangamati and fell into a ditch.

The accident took place on the Rangamati-Chittagong road in Ghagra Kalabagan area of Kaukhali upazila on Thursday (February 15) morning.

One died on the spot and two died while undergoing treatment at Sadar General Hospital.

According to local and police sources, a large truck used for road maintenance hit a passenger CNG autorickshaw in Shalbagan area on its way from Rangamati to Chittagong. Both vehicles lost control and fell into a mountain ditch.

The deceased in this incident are Nabir Hossain (50), Md. Hanif (50) and an unknown person.

Among the injured, Saikat Chakma is being treated at Rangamati Sadar Hospital. Doctors have sent another injured Md. Noor Azim to Chittagong for better treatment.

Rangamati Additional Superintendent of Police Shah Imran (Crime) said that one person died on the spot and two died at the hospital when a CNG autorickshaw was hit by a truck in Kalabagan area.
