35 detained with electronic devices in examination card during primary teacher recruitment

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 8 December 2023: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) arrested five masterminds of the fraud ring and 30 examinees during the first phase primary teacher recruitment examination by attaching an electronic device to the master card created in a novel way.

On Friday, they were detained from various examination centers of Gaibandha Sadar during the recruitment examination. During this time, 22 electronic devices connected MasterCard, 19 Bluetooth devices and 16 mobile phones were recovered from them.

ANM Imran Khan, Assistant Director of Legal and Media Wing of RAB Headquarters, said that a total of 35 people, including five ringleaders and 30 examinees, were arrested during the fraud by connecting electronic devices to mastercards created in a novel way during the first phase of primary teacher recruitment examination.

He also said that details will be given later. Earlier, the one-hour examination (MCQ) which started at 10 am on Friday lasted till 11 pm. In the first phase, the job seekers sat in the examination hall simultaneously in 18 districts of Rangpur, Sylhet, Barisal division. The districts are Rangpur, Gaibandha, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Barisal, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barguna, Jhalkathi, Pirojpur, Sylhet, Habiganj, Sunamganj and Moulvibazar. There were a total of 535 centers and 8,186 examination rooms in these districts.

3 lakh 60 thousand 697 job seekers applied to take part in the first phase examination. In this phase, vacancies will be appointed in government primary schools in 72 upazilas of Barisal, Rangpur and Sylhet divisions.

According to the information of the Directorate of Primary Education - there are two thousand 772 vacant posts in the government primary of 3 categories. As such, 130 people are fighting against each post. However, due to the quota facility, women candidates will be ahead in recruitment.
