5 killed in firing between two terrorist groups at Rohingya camp in Ukhia

Dhaka, July 7: Five Rohingyas were killed in firing between two terrorist groups at the Rohingya camp in Ukhia of Cox's Bazar district. The incident took place at Rohingya Camp-8 in Ukhia early on Friday morning.

The deceased are Anwar Hossain (24), Mohammad Hamim (16), resident of Camp-8 (western part), Nurul Amin (24) of Camp-13 and Md. Nazimullah of Camp-10. Another person has not been identified.

Armed Police Battalion APBN Captain (Additional DIG) Amir Zafar said that the police went to the spot on receiving information about the firing between two groups of Rohingya terrorists at Camp No. 8 on Friday morning. Three bodies were recovered from there. Two more people injured in the incident were taken to the hospital where the doctor on duty declared them dead. The APBN captain said that the operation to arrest those involved in the incident is continuing.

The Rohingyas, who did not wish to be named, said that there was a dispute between different terrorist groups over the dominance of the camp. As a result of this, there was an incident of firing between the two groups in the early hours of Friday morning. Five people were killed. In this incident there is fear among the common Rohingyas.

APBN Assistant Superintendent of Police (Operation and Media) Farooq Ahmed said that there are activities of several terrorist groups in the camp. The police continued the operation to arrest them. He said that those involved in terrorist activities in the camp will be brought under the law. An operation is underway to nab those involved in Friday's gun battle.
