Road Accident 5 killed in head-on collision between bus and microbus in Gopalganj
Own correspondent, Dhaka, 21 March 2024: Five people were killed in a collision between a bus and a microbus in Muksudpar, Gopalganj. All the dead were passengers of the microbus.
The accident took place at Chagalchira bus stand of upazila around 11:30 on Wednesday. The names of the victims were not immediately available.
Three women and two men were killed. One of them is a microbus driver. One of the 5 dead has been identified. She is Salma Zaman of Dhanmondi area of the capital. Muksudpur police station officer-in-charge (OC investigation) Sheetal Chandra Pal confirmed the matter.
He said, a Lubana Paribahan bus leaving from Barisal was heading towards Dhaka. When the bus reached the Chagalchira bus stand of the upazila, there was a head-on collision with the Barisal-bound microbus from Dhaka. Five passengers of the microbus were killed on the spot.
