Jobs 5 lakh 3 thousand vacancies in government jobs
Personal representative, Dhaka, 8 February 2024: Public Administration Minister Farhad Hossain said that there are 5 lakh 3 thousand 333 vacancies against the posts of officers and employees of all ministries, departments, directorates and offices. He said this in response to a written question of Md. Mamunur Rashid Kiran, Member of Parliament of Noakhali-3 Constituency in the session of the 12th National Parliament on Wednesday.
In a written reply, the Minister of Public Administration said, "According to the latest Statistics of Government Servant 2022 published by the Public Administration, there are 5 lakh 3 thousand 333 vacancies against the posts of officers and employees in all ministries, departments, directorates and offices."
He said, "Filling government vacancies is an ongoing process. According to the specific rules for filling vacancies, the regular process of filling the posts is ongoing. In view of the needs of various ministries and departments and agencies under it, through the government work commission, ninth (previously first class) and 10 to 12 grades ( erstwhile Class II) are recruited against vacant posts."
The Minister said that the Prime Minister has approved the recommendation to take necessary measures to fill the vacancies in the monthly report regarding the activities of the ministries-departments for the month of November 2023 prepared according to Rule 25 (1) of the Rules of Business, 1996. It has been sent from the Cabinet Division to all Ministries and Departments. According to the instructions of the Prime Minister, the recruitment process is ongoing in the ministries and departments.
