Sharifa's Story 5-member committee to review 'Sharifa's story'
Own Correspondence, Dhaka, 25 January 2024: The Ministry of Education has constituted a committee of 5 members to review the story of Sharifa included in the history and social science books of class VII.
According to a circular of the Ministry of Education on Wednesday, this committee was convened by the VC Professor Dr. Abdur Rashid of the Islamic Arabic University. The other members of the committee are - Islamic Foundation Governor Mufti Maulana Kofil Uddin Sarkar, National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) member Mashiuzzaman, Dhaka University IER Director Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Halim and Dhaka Aliya Madrasah Principal Prof. Mohammad Abdur Rashid.
It is mentioned that in the new curriculum, in the history and social science books of the seventh grade, there will be a more in-depth review of the subject in view of the discussion that arose on the story titled Sharifa in the chapter on similarities and differences between people.
The Ministry of Education has formed a 5-member high-level expert committee to assist the NCTB.
