89% of the cabinet's decisions implemented in the govt's current term

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, April 19: During the current term of the present government (from January 7, 2019 to March 31, 2022), 89.04 percent of the decisions taken in the last 39 months have been implemented.

This information has been revealed from the report of the first quarter of this year (January-March) on the implementation of the decision taken in the cabinet meeting.

The report was presented at a cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister's Office on Monday (April 18). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting.

After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said this to reporters at the Secretariat.

According to the report, a total of 89 cabinet meetings were held from January 7, 2019 to March 31, 2022. Seven hundred fourty eight (748) decisions were taken in these cabinet meetings. Of these, 666 have been implemented. The implementation rate of the decision is 89.04 percent. Of the decisions taken at the same time, 82 decisions are currently under implementation.

During the current tenure of the government, 81 laws and five ordinances have been issued. A total of 59 decisions were taken in seven cabinet meetings held in the three months from January to March this year. Of these, 36 have been implemented. The implementation rate is 61.02 percent. Besides, out of the decisions taken during this period, 23 decisions are under implementation.

The Cabinet Secretary further said that in the same period of 2021 (January-March), 41 decisions were taken in five cabinet meetings. Of these, 20 were implemented. In the first three months of last year, the implementation rate was 48.78 percent.

He added that in the last three months (January to March), the cabinet meeting had approved four policies or strategies and four agreements or protocols. During this time, four laws were passed in the parliament.
