Dhaka, April 12: The businessmen affected by the fire have started trading by setting up makeshift shops in Bangabazar. The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has given them the opportunity to temporarily occupy the post to manage their business. DSCC Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh inaugurated the program on Wednesday.

At the end of the inauguration, he told reporters that thousands of businessmen have become destitute in the fire. It took three days to completely extinguish the fire. Later, they removed several thousand tons of waste from there and cleared the whole place.

Mayor said, they wanted to facilitate business within 48 hours, keeping Eid in mind. They were able to do that with everyone's help. They have already made a list of 3 thousand 845 affected traders.

Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said that everyone in the country has come forward with the help of the businessmen of Bangabazar. "Through this we have been able to prove, Bengalis know how to help."

DSCC Mayor said, "Now we are setting up shops in our respective places. I am making everything that way. It is a matter of great joy. Although it is little before Eid. After Eid, I will hold a meeting with the local parliamentarians and all the market associations on how to do more for the businessmen. We will donate to the Bangabazar Relief Fund on behalf of the City Corporation."
