Sohel After escaping, militant Sohel was traveling to Shekar's home in Narayanganj
Dhaka, 9 April 2023 : The main coordinator of the gang that kidnapped two militant members of the banned organization Ansar Al Islam from the court premises in Dhaka was the escaped militant Abu Siddique Sohail alias Shakib's wife Fatima Tasneem alias Shikha.
The Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the police has come to know that the fugitive militant Sohail has visited a house in Narayanganj at least twice.
Sohail's wife Fatema Tasneem Shikha lived in that house in Narayanganj. Sohail used to come and go near him. CTTC raided the house on Friday night and arrested Shikha and Husna Akhtar, who sheltered her.
The CTTC says the two Ansar-al-Islam militants who attacked and robbed the police from the court premises are in the country. According to the top leadership of the organization, they are staying at two separate places. Six months before the militant was snatched from the court, he went to jail and took all the tricks to escape with the arrested Shikha Sohail. Shikha maintained constant contact with the top leaders of Ansar Al Islam. Shikha was also at the spot on the day of the militant abduction and took the two militants to an Ansar camp after abducting them.
CTTC Chief Additional Police Commissioner Md. Asaduzzaman said this. He said that during the interrogation of the arrested, the details of various aspects of the robbery of the militants have been learned from the court. When asked whether Sohail had traveled to Shikha's house in Narayanganj after escaping from the court, Asaduzzaman said that he went twice. We did not find Sohail in the expedition. We are trying our best to arrest the fugitive militants.
He said that members of Ansar Al Islam attacked the police on duty to abduct 4 militants. Meanwhile, Moinul Hasan Shamim alias Sifat (24) and Md. They kidnapped Abu Siddique Sohail (34) and escaped on a motorcycle. In this incident, Fatima Tasneem alias Shikha, wife of fugitive militant Abu Siddique Sohail, coordinated between the fugitive accused and the members of the attacking organization.
