Ambassadors of four countries visit Rohingyas in Bhasanchar

Dhaka, February 18: A high-level delegation of 16 members, including the ambassadors of four countries, went to Hatiya Upazila's Bhasanchar in Noakhali to see the facilities of the Rohingyas.

The delegation including ambassadors of Japan, China, France and Indonesia reached Bhasanchar by helicopter around 10:30 am on Friday. At the same time, a delegation led by Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Md Tofazzal Hossain Mia also reached Bhasanchar.

At this time, Noakhali Deputy Commissioner (Acting) Md. Nazimul Haider and Superintendent of Police Md. Shahidul Islam welcomed them with flowers. After that they were given guard of honor by Superintendent of Police Md. Shahidul Islam.

It is known that Japanese ambassador Iwama Kiminori visited Rohingya facilities around 10:30 a.m.; Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen; Ambassador of France Marie Masdupoui; Indonesian Ambassador Heru Hartanto Subolo; UN Resident Coordinator Gwen Lewis; Johannes van der Klaue, Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees; and World Food Program officer-in-charge Simone Parchment arrived in Bhasanchar by helicopter.

At the same time, the delegation led by the Prime Minister's Chief Secretary, Md. Tofazzal Hossain Mia, included the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Masood Bin Momen; Fatima Yasmin, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Finance; Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Secretary Md. Kamrul Hasan; Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office Md. Salahuddin; Director General (Administration) Md. Ahsan Kibria Siddiqui; Private Secretary to the Prime Minister's Chief Secretary Md. Kaycharul Islam; Director-9 Mohammad Nazmul Haque; Director-14 Dr. Mohammad Mohibul Hasan.

Noakhali Deputy Commissioner (Acting) Md. Nazimul Haider said, Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Dr. Md. Aminur Rahman held a coordination meeting with Rohingya rehabilitation officials along with representatives of four ambassadors at Vasanchar. They discussed the benefits of Rohingyas. Visited various clusters. Talk to the Rohingyas. They returned to Dhaka by helicopter on Friday afternoon.

Incidentally, the Bhasanchar Shelter Project was implemented at a cost of Tk 3,950 crore from the government's own funds for the relocation of Rohingyas under the supervision of the Navy. The infrastructure of 120 cluster villages suitable for living one lakh Rohingyas was built in that area of 13 thousand acres.
