Arson: Double-decker bus burnt in Uttara

Dhaka, November 26: Miscreants set fire to a double-decker passenger bus of BRTC at Abdullahpur bus stand in the capital's Uttara on the eve of BNP's 48-hour blockade.

Leader of Fire Service and Civil Defense Jiban Mia said that locals brought the fire under control before the fire service personnel reached the spot.

No casualties were reported.

According to the fire service data, 197 fire incidents have occurred across the country from October 28 to Monday.

Out of 197 arson attacks across the country, 132 in Dhaka Division including Dhaka Metropolis, 22 in Chittagong Division, 24 in Rajshahi, seven in Barisal, seven in Rangpur, two in Khulna Division, two in Mymensingh Division, one in Sylhet Division.

According to statistics, the highest number of arson incidents occurred on October 28, with 29 incidents.

Although most of the fire incidents occurred in the areas under the two city corporations of Dhaka, the fire service says that they have not received any such reports in 30 districts.

At this time, 1 thousand 8 members of 341 units of fire service worked to control the fire across the country.

On October 28, BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami called for a rally in the capital.

Several vehicles were burnt and two people, including a police constable, died.
