Dhaka, September 7: Bangabandhu Media Center has been inaugurated at the Press Club of India in New Delhi. Visiting Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hassan Mahmood was the chief guest at the inaugural function in New Delhi on Monday (September 6).

The Information Minister inaugurated the Bangabandhu Media Center and unveiled a portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Press Club of India. Umakanta Lakhera, President of Press Club of India presided over the function. Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Muhammad Imran was present as the special guest.

Farida Yasmeen, President of Bangladesh National Press Club, Binoy Kumar, General Secretary of Press Club of India, Gautam Lahiri, Former President of Press Club of India, Bangladesh High Commission officials and media personalities from both Bangladesh and India were present on the occasion.

In his speech, Dr. Hasan Mahmud gave a short biography of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation of Bangladesh. He said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman led Bangladesh on the path of liberation and if Bangabandhu had not been born, Bangladesh would not have been born.

The Minister also expressed special thanks and gratitude for India's contribution to the independence of Bangladesh. He mentioned that the role of journalists and media is very important for enhancing the bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh.
