Dhaka, Jan 3: BNP has held a meeting with the delegation of the International Republican Institute (IRI) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) of the United States research institutes staying in Dhaka to observe the 12th National Assembly elections scheduled to be held on January 7.

The meeting was held at a hotel in Gulshan of the capital on Tuesday. The meeting lasted from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Nilufar Chowdhury Moni, Co-Secretary of the party on behalf of BNP, Shammi Akhtar and Mahmuda Habiba, members of media cell were present in this.

BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the meeting at night. In the meeting, the BNP briefed the United States election observation team about the reasons for the election boycott, the election environment and the ongoing movement. A 12-member delegation of IRI and NDI will stay in Dhaka to observe the January 7 election. Among them, five members of the delegation came to Dhaka in the middle of last December.
