Book Fair Book fair from March 18- April 14
Dhaka, January 29: Considering the Covid-19 situation, the book fair will start on March 18. The book fair will run till April 14. Habibullah Siraj, Director General of Bangla Academy, confirmed this information to the media on January 28 afternoon.
On the same day at noon, Bangla Academy held a meeting with the leaders of Bangladesh Knowledge and Creative Publishers Association and Bangladesh Book Publishers and Sales Association.
After the meeting, Habibullah Siraji said, "The book fair will start on March 18 and end on April 14. The book fair is being organized in compliance with the hygiene rules. There may be some differences in setting up stalls due to the situation."
He added: "We are basically waiting for the situation to get better. Everything will happen in that context."
Earlier on January 25, Director General of Bangla Academy Habibullah Siraji had said that the fair would start normally from March 16. There are plans to hold the closing ceremony of the fair on the day before the start of the month of Ramadan.
