Dhaka, April 10: The Amar Ekushey Book Fair will end on April 12, two days ahead of schedule. State Minister for Culture KM Khalid was quoted as saying by the Ministry of Culture on Saturday (April 10). According to the previous decision, the book fair was to run till April 14.

Usually every year on February 1, the book fair starts at the Bangla Academy premises in the capital and lasts for a whole month. This time the book fair fell into uncertainty due to the coronavirus epidemic. Due to the corona outbreak, this year's Ekushey Book Fair was supposed to be held virtually or online.

After overcoming the uncertainty, the 37th Amar Ekushey Book Fair was inaugurated on March 18. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the virtually immortal Ekushey Book Fair from Ganobhaban.

The fair was held on Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 9 pm and on other days from 3 pm to 9 pm. Due to the increase in corona infections, the time has now been reduced to 8 pm.

Although a seven-day ban was imposed from April 5, the book fair was not closed. Even in this situation, Ekushey Book Fair is going on every day from 12 noon to 5 pm.
