Dhaka, Aug 8: The deadline for land border closure with India has been extended till Tuesday (August 10) due to the coronavirus situation.

In other words, in the latest announcement, it has been decided to keep the land border closed till the strict restrictions continue for two days.

On Sunday (August 8th) morning, Foreign Ministry Secretary (East) Mashfi bint Shams said, "We have strict restrictions until Tuesday (August 10th). So far it has been decided to close the land border. In this case, all the previous rules will remain in force. Then the decision will be made. '

As the situation in Corona deteriorated in India, Bangladesh closed all borders with the country for the first 14 days on April 26. Later, the border closure period was extended in several phases. The latest announcement was to close the border for eight days until August 8.

At present, as the number of people detained in India is decreasing, Bangladeshis are forced to return to the country three days a week, i.e. on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, with proper documents and five ports. In this case, everyone has to do 14 days compulsory quarantine.
