Burnt goods are being removed from Bangabazar

Dhaka, April 7: The work of moving goods burnt in Bangabazar of the capital has started. The work of moving the goods started from 10:30 am on Friday (April 7). The Shop Owners Association started working with the permission of Dhaka South City Corporation.

Meanwhile, even after 76 hours of the fire, black smoke is still rising from the burnt shops. However, the fire service has said that the fire has been extinguished.

According to the Shop Owners Association, about 150 workers are working to move the goods. In the morning, going to the spot, it was seen that the workers were picking up various types of parts including burnt tin and iron in the truck.

The fire broke out in Bangabazar Market on Tuesday morning. The fire spread to four other markets from Bangabazar. Forty-eight fire service units work to control the fire. The fire was brought under control at 12:36 PM after about six and a half hours of effort.

Meanwhile, the court has granted one-day remand to three people in the case of assaulting the police and obstructing government work while trying to control the fire in the capital's Bangabazar. They are: Md. Raju, Shaon and Shahadat Hossain.

Police produced them in court on Thursday. Then Sub-Inspector (SI) Masudul Hasan of Banshal Police Station applied for a three-day remand for proper investigation of the case. Later, the court remanded the three for one day. Earlier on Thursday, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Banshal Police Station Israfil Hawladar filed a case against 250 to 300 unknown persons as plaintiffs.
