Road Accident Bus-autorickshaw collision in Chittagong kills 7
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 8 November 2023: Seven people were killed in a bus-CNG auto rickshaw collision in Hathazari, Chittagong. The accident took place at Charia Board School area of Mirzapur Union under Hathazari police station on Chittagong-Khagrachari highway on Tuesday around 12:15 pm.
The CNG auto-rickshaw that was involved in the accident was towards Fatikchhari and the bus was towards Chittagong.
After getting information about the accident, Hathajari Model Police Station, Fire Service and Nazirhat Highway Police reached the spot and recovered the body. Local eyewitnesses said that reckless speed of buses and autorickshaws led to the accident. 7 people including men and women were killed on the spot.
Nazirhat Highway Police Station OC Md. Adil Mahmud said that 7 people were killed on the spot in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw. The autorickshaw was crushed in the accident.
The front part of the bus was also destroyed. Some were sent to hospital with serious injuries. So far, the identity of the injured has not been confirmed.
