China | Bangladesh Elections China will not interfere in Bangladesh election issue: Ambassador
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 16 August 2023: China will not interfere in any way in the election issue of Bangladesh, it is an internal matter of Bangladesh. The country's ambassador Yao Wen said this during a meeting with Planning Minister Abdul Mannan at his office in Sherebangla Nagar, the capital, on Wednesday. After the meeting, the Planning Minister briefed the journalists.
Meanwhile, the Chinese ambassador said that as a long-time tested friend of Bangladesh, China will provide all kinds of cooperation in the development of bilateral commercial relations. If Bangladesh goes from a less developed country to a developing country in the world trade after 2026, China will stand by it by providing duty and quota free trade facilities.
This ambassador of China also said that he is not worried about Bangladesh in paying the foreign debt.
Regarding the meeting, the planning minister said that after the Padma Bridge, China wants to invest in the infrastructure development of the western region. At the same time, Chinese investors are interested in working together with Bangladesh in the production of electric vehicles.
