Chittagong road accident kills four

Dhaka, March 31: Four people were killed when a CNG-powered autorickshaw collided head-on with a truck carrying sand in Raozan, Chittagong. The accident took place in Damdamiya area of the upazila around 2.30 am on Wednesday (March 31).

The deceased have been identified as Md Shahjahan, 33, son of Md Abul Kalam, a resident of Rangunia Sarafvata Shelter Project, Md Siraj, 55, son of late Delu Majhi of Charfakira village under Hatia police station, Noakhali, Khorshed, 40, son of late Shah Alam of Mohra and CNG driver Md. Kamrul.

Raozan Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Harun said a CNG-powered autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with a Chittagong-bound sand truck. Four people in the CNG were killed on the spot.

He added, "The bodies of the four deceased have been sent to Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital for autopsy. Besides, two vehicles have been seized."
