Country registers another 170 dengue cases on Friday

Dhaka, July 31: A day after recording the highest number of single-day dengue cases, another 170 patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country on Friday. On Thursday (July 29), 194 people were admitted to hospitals, according to the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General Health Services on Friday (July 30).

Of the 170 new patients, 164 were admitted in Dhaka and six in hospitals outside Dhaka.

According to the report, at present, the total number of dengue patients admitted in various government and private hospitals in the country stands at 709. Of these, 679 are admitted in 41 government and private hospitals in Dhaka and 30 patients admitted in different hospitals of other divisions.

A total of 2,462 patients were admitted to the hospital from January 1 to July 29 this year. At the same time, 1,749 of them have recovered.

No deaths have been reported from dengue so far this year. However, the death of four people has been sent to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) for review (to find out whether there were any deaths due to dengue), the DGHS said.
