Depression moves to India, rainfall may decrease in Bangladesh

Dhaka, July 30: The depression at Khulna-Satkhira has shifted further west and is now located in West Bengal, India. As a result, the trend of continuous rainfall may decrease from Saturday. However, it will take some more time to completely cut its impact in Bangladesh.

The Meteorological Department also asked Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports to display local warning signal No. 3 on Friday. At the same time, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions have forecast heavy to very heavy rains on Friday.

Meteorologist Abdur Rahman Khan said the ground depression is currently in West Bengal. Monsoon winds are active over Bangladesh and are strong in the North Bay. Rainfall is likely to decrease in the next three days.

In the next 24 hours from 9 am on Friday, most parts of Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions and many parts of Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusts or gusts. The meteorologist also said that there could be moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the country.

The day and night temperatures are expected to rise slightly across the country at this time. The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours from 9 am on Thursday to 9 am on Friday was recorded in Feni, where 258 mm of rainfall was recorded. At that time, 32 mm of rain fell in Dhaka.
