Dhaka, April 15: Thirty-five people injured in the fire at the capital's New Super Market have been admitted to the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital. They are under treatment in the hospital's emergency department. Thirteen of them are fire service members. And 16 shop owners and employees.

Others injured include three volunteer workers, one air force member, one Ansar member and one journalist. Most of them were injured by the smoke of the fire. In addition, some people were injured in the tin in the market.

The injured fire service members are Russell (22), Shanto (24), Taufiq (23), Rajan (25), Milan (26), Sajeeb (25), Ariful (26), Kamruzzaman (25), Shariful (24), Rajib (22), Deepjol (24), Alamgir (36), Sohail Rana (35).

Shop owners and workers undergoing treatment in DMCH are Rifat (23), Bayjid (25), Hasan (20), Rimon (28), Kamal Hossain (33), Feroz Alam (30), Jiban (30), Jisan (18), Yasin. (24), Jiban (25), Swapan (23), Farhan (24), Sarfin (18), Imam Hussain Ali (26), Rashed (30), Sabbir (18).

Others injured are ATN News journalist Moniruzzaman (33), air force member Sergeant Arafat (32), Ansar member Sabuj (20), volunteer Sabbir (30), Zakir Hossain (27), Chan Mia (18).

The fire service received information about the fire at the New Supermarket in New Market at 5:40 am on Saturday (April 15). At 5:43, the first unit of the fire service reached the spot to control the fire. Then 30 units of fire service worked to control the fire one by one.

Along with the fire service, the army, navy and air force fire support teams joined there. RAB, Police, BGB and Ansar have been deployed at the spot. Volunteers also assisted the fire service in controlling the fire. The fire service was able to bring the fire under control at 9:10 am.
