Dhaka Fire Tragedy: Victims still fear the night of horror

Time was spent there with delicious food and laughter. But Thursday's fire changed all that.

There is now only silence throughout the building. The remaining part of the building, which stands tall with its charred marks, is now lifeless.

The screams of people trying to escape from the flames are still floating around the building.

Police cordoned off the burnt-out building on Bailey Road on Saturday. Media workers have gathered there to inform people about the current situation. Hundreds of eager people gathered. Crying is evident in everyone's panicked eyes. Someone's voice was shaking as he recalled the incident.

Dhaka College Higher Secondary student Hasibul Alam Ivan came to see the burnt building after coaching. He said, I have come to this building many times with my family. Seeing this building burnt by fire, I feel panic now. When I came here earlier, many times I saw the cylinders kept carelessly. Such a situation would not have arisen if awareness had been adopted.

A passerby named Amin Alamgir said, I pass in front of this building every day. It is scary to see the building after burning. The building next to Green Cozy Cottage is Gold Palace. Security staff of this building. Mustafa said, I used to see many people here (Green Cozy Cottage) from morning till night. Because the food shop, people used to come to eat food and also take away food.

The Green Cozy Cottage building is one of the busiest buildings on Bailey Road. Most of the floors of the seven-story building had restaurants.

As a result, people were traveling there all day. However, the presence of people was more after evening. Kacchi Bhai Restaurant located on the second floor of the building was crowded last Thursday.
