Own Correspondent, Dhaka, April 18: The United States recently released a report on human rights, criticizing the law enforcement agencies of Bangladesh. At the same time, the report claimed that human rights are being violated, which Bangladesh has denied. Bangladesh will seek clarification from Washington in this regard.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam made the remarks at the Foreign Ministry on Sunday (April 17). He said the report cites information from a number of sources who have a political agenda. We hope that they will get more details from those from whom they are getting information. We need to know what they have done in the recent past.

The State Minister further said that in 2018, the report of the Law and Arbitration Center had mentioned that 275 extrajudicial killings had taken place. However, the US report mentions 606. So there are questions about the quality of the US report.

"We will seek clarification from the United States on the report. I will discuss the issues with them," he said.

Shahriar Alam further said that RAB is now a brand name. It has played a role in maintaining law and order and preventing militants and terrorists.

In the context of 2021, the US State Department recently released its annual report on the human rights situation in various countries of the world. This report is based on a picture of 198 countries and regions. The report claims that human rights are being violated in Bangladesh.
