Dhaka, 3 March 2024 : Chittagong district administration has started market monitoring ahead of Ramadan.

The program started under the leadership of Executive Magistrate Prateek Dutta at Riazuddin Bazar in the city on Saturday afternoon.

At that time, the team conducting the operation found various inconsistencies including lack of price list in the market, lack of purchase and sale receipts.

Executive Magistrate Prateek Dutta said that the market of vegetables including onion and potato in the market is quite tolerable.

Dates and fruits cost a little extra. If anyone overstocks or tries to raise prices in any dishonest way, strict action will be taken against them. Intelligence agencies are active. Action will be taken as soon as information is available.

Chittagong District Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman said that we are careful not to manipulate during the holy Ramadan. No one can profit by dishonest means by creating an artificial shortage of goods. We will continue to closely monitor the market.
