Earthquake: Bangladeshi team rescue one person in Turkey, 22 bodies recovered

Dhaka, February 16: The combined rescue team of Bangladesh has so far rescued one person from the rubble of the building destroyed by the terrible earthquake in Turkey. Apart from this, 22 bodies were recovered. Md. Shahjahan Sikder, Head (Acting) of Media Branch of Fire Service and Civil Defense Directorate of Fire Service Headquarters, informed this information on Wednesday.

Referring to the latest situation reported from Turkey on Wednesday, he said, "The fire service and civil defense rescuers under the leadership of Bangladesh Army's rescue team in Turkey are continuing the rescue work. It was the sixth day of the start of the rescue work on Wednesday. So far, the Bangladeshi team has rescued/recovered a total of 23 people. One of them is alive. The remaining 22 were bodies."

The members of the fire service under the leadership of the Bangladesh Army left for Turkey on February 8 at 10 pm. They arrived at Adana Military Air Base on February 9 at 9:46 PM. From there they reached Adiaman city and started search and rescue.
