Eid: 90,000 expatriates come to country in 15 days

Dhaka, April 20: Eid-ul-Fitr is the biggest religious festival of Muslims. Eid will be celebrated in Bangladesh on April 22 or 23 depending on the sighting of the moon. Expatriates are coming to the country to celebrate Eid with their families. According to the information of the Wage Earners Welfare Board, about 90,000 expatriates have come to the country in the last 15 days to celebrate Eid with their families.

Meanwhile, Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) and Wage Earners Welfare Board greeted expatriates arriving at the airport for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations. The greetings were conveyed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Wednesday. On this day at around 3:30 pm, the officials of the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) and Wage Earners Welfare Board went to greet the expatriates. At this time, under the leadership of Manpower Employment and Training Bureau (BMET) Director General Md. Shahidul Alam, cards containing Iftar and greetings were presented to the expatriates.

Wage Earners Welfare Board sources said that on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, an average of 6,000 expatriates are coming to the country. According to this, about 90,000 expatriates have come to the country in the last 15 days.

Many people have shared a picture of such greetings to expatriates on social media. In this picture, it can be seen that BMET Director General Md Shahidul Alam and others are standing inside the airport with a banner titled 'Greetings to migrant workers on Eid'. As the expats exit through immigration, they are handed iftar items and greeting cards.
