Eid e-Milad-un Nabi on Oct 9

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Sept 27: The counting of the Rabiul Awal month of Hijri will start next Wednesday (September 28). Accordingly, the holy Eid e-Milad-un Nabi (PBUH) will be observed on Sunday, October 9 (12 Rabiul Awal).

The moon of Rabiul Awal month was not seen in the sky of Bangladesh on the evening of Pasambar (September 26). This decision was taken in the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee in the evening. Munim Hasan, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, presided over it. The meeting was held in the hall of the Islamic Foundation in Baitul Mukarram of the capital.

In the meeting, the Additional Secretary said that according to the information received from all the district administrations of the country, Islamic Foundation head office, divisional and district offices, meteorological department, space research center and remote sensing institute, the moon of Rabiul Awal month of 1444 Hijri could not be seen in the sky of Bangladesh on Monday evening.

Therefore, Tuesday (September 27) completes 30 days of Safar month. The counting of Rabiul Awal month will start on Wednesday (September 28). On October 9 (12 Rabiul Awal) the holy Eid e-Milad-un Nabi (PBUH) will be observed in the country.

It should be noted that Muslims observe 12 Rabiul Awal as the birth and death day of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Because Rasul Karim (PBUH) also passed away on this day. Eid e-Milad-un Nabi (PBUH) day is a general holiday in Bangladesh.
