Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 21 March 2024: Traffic has started through exit ramp (descent road) adjacent to FDC gate of Dhaka Elevated Expressway. The stretch was opened for public traffic after 2pm on Wednesday (March 20). After opening, there was no traffic jam, but after 5 pm, the traffic pressure increased there. Around 5.30 pm, the traffic from Hatirjheel-FDC junction backed up to the elevated expressway. As a result, the Dhaka Elevated Expressway was conquered on the first day.

Before this, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated the exit ramp on Wednesday (March 20) morning. The length of this section is 1.5 km.

He termed it as Prime Minister's Eid gift to the countrymen. It has been seen that the vehicles coming from Airport-Banani via Dhaka Elevated Expressway are coming down at FDC junction. From there the cars are going towards four destinations Tejgaon, Hatirjheel, Moghbazar and Karwan Bazar.

The ramp of the FDC section ends in front of the Mahanagar Poultry Marketing Cooperative Society Limited building. Hatirjheel-FDC intersection is about 120 meters away from it. Private vehicles (private cars), small trucks, pickups, mini buses of various private companies coming down from the airport have to go down the ramp towards this intersection. The cars take that turn left towards Tejgaon, straight towards Hatirjheel, right towards Moghbazar and take a U-turn towards Sonargaon-Karwan Bazar.
