Dhaka, March 23: At least three people have been killed in clashes between two terrorist groups in Rangamati and Bandarban bordering Rajsthali upazilas. The incident took place in Gaindhya Union of the upazila on Tuesday (March 22) morning.

The three were killed in a shootout between the Santu Larma-led Chittagong Hill Tracts Jana Sanghati Samiti (JSS) and the Mugh Liberation Party (MLP).

According to police sources, a group of 12 to 15 members of the Mugh Liberation Party from Tainga Para in Rajbila Union of Bandarban Sadar Upazila attacked a group of JSS in Kenchipara area of ​​Balumura Road in Gaindhya Union of Rajasthali on their way to Rajsthali Upazila of Rangamati. The shootings took place between two armed groups.

Rajbila Union Chairman Kyung Pru said the sound of gunfire was heard in the Rajbila-Rajasthan border area. I have heard the news that the bodies of three people have fallen. The incident took place in Balumura Kenchi Para area of ​​Rajsthali upazila of Rangamati.

Rangamati Superintendent of Police Mir Modachcher Hossain said, "I have heard the news of 3 bodies being found. The incident took place in a remote area of ​​Rangamati district. Army and police personnel rushed to the spot soon after receiving the news of the incident. I found out that they could not reach till 4 pm."
