Dhaka, November 3: The government is doing its utmost to enforce the verdict of the 'jail killings' case that took place on November 3, 1975. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said this after paying floral tributes to the portraits of four national leaders at the old jail on Nazim Uddin Road in the capital on Wednesday (November 3) morning on the occasion of Jail Killing Day.

Entering the jail in the morning, the Home Minister first paid homage to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with flowers. He then paid homage to the portraits of the four national leaders with flowers.

After the Home Minister, Tanzeem Ahmed Sohail Taj, son of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed, paid homage to the portrait with flowers; Simin Hossain Rimi; Rezaul Karim, son of martyred Captain M Mansur Ali; Haji Md. Selim, Member of Parliament for Dhaka-7 constituency; Former Member of Parliament Dr. Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin; Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General Anisur Rahman and many more.

At that time Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that two heinous murders had taken place in the country. One of them killed Bangabandhu on 15 August and the other was the jail killings in on November 3. Everyone knows who caused this. Many killers have been tried.

He said, "Prisons are the safest place in the world, but everyone knows how this murder was committed by breaking the law. The trial of Bangabandhu's assassination has been held and the verdict has been partially executed. We are looking for those fugitive accused. The death sentence will be effective only when we can bring the accused under our control. We are trying our best to execute the prison murder verdict."

Regarding the 1977 military coup, the minister said, "Ziaur Rahman had killed hundreds of people in the name of the military coup, which was a disgusting incident. There is a writ petition in the High Court in this regard. We are awaiting the verdict of the writ petition. We want the culprits to be brought to justice."
