Govt sends three SPs on compulsory retirement

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Oct 19: The government has sent three officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) on compulsory retirement.

Three separate notifications were issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs' Public Security Department on Tuesday (October 18). Md. Akhtar Hossain, Senior Secretary, Public Security Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, signed the notification by order of the President.

The three Superintendents of Police who have been sent to retirement are - Superintendent of Police (TR) of Police Headquarters Muhammad Shahidullah Chowdhury, Superintendent of Police of Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Md. Delwar Hossain Mia and Mirza Abdullahel Baki.

Among these three retired police officers, Muhammad Shahidullah Chowdhury and Delwar Hossain Mia belong to the 12th batch of BCS police cadre, and Mirza Abdullah Baki is a 15th batch officer of BCS police cadre.

Of the three officers who have been sent on compulsory retirement, Muhammad Shahidullah Chowdhury and Mirza Abdullah Baki were awarded PPM (Service) medals in recognition of good work.

According to the notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs, according to the provisions of Section 45 of the Public Service Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018), they were retired from public service in public interest. This order issued in public interest will be effective.
