Health Minister urges to take booster dose as Covid infection rate soars

Dhaka, June 17: Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque has urged all to take the anti-coronavirus vaccine booster dose after infection rate soared in the country and abroad.

Those who have not yet taken the booster dose, he said, should take it soon. Because, in our country, even if it is a little more. Infections are also on the rise in neighboring countries.

The minister was responding to a question from reporters after a meeting with the Pharmaceutical Industry Association, an association of domestic pharmaceutical companies, at the Secretariat on Thursday (June 16).

People are reluctant to take coronavirus vaccine booster dose. Asked if there would be any obligation to ensure booster dose in this case, the health minister said there was no need to impose anything when it comes to health issue. "It is an independent country, all citizens have independent thinking. It is the responsibility of our Ministry of Health to inform them. What are the advantages and disadvantages of getting vaccinated? The rest of the decision has to be taken by them. There is nothing to force here. We can't force it."

In this context, he said, we will say again, those who have not yet taken the booster dose, must take. You will be safe if you take a booster dose.

The minister further said that those who have taken booster dose have no risk of death. So we would urge those who have not yet taken the booster dose to take it as soon as possible. The Health Minister also mentioned that now is the real time to take booster dose in the recent upward situation of corona infection in the country.
